There is no reason why he wouldn’t make time to talk to you. Whether he has school or work, he could fit a simple text message to you in between that, not completely ignore you. If he has time updating his Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram etc, then there’s no excuse why he can’t text you….
